Our Massage Therapists

Stephanie Heckard

My name is Stephanie Heckard, and I am the CEO/Owner of Northwest Therapeutic Massage. I was born and raised in Tacoma, WA by my immigrant parents from Mexico. I have been a massage therapist for six years in various chiropractic offices. My last several years were spent at Northwest Therapeutic Massage as an employee under the previous owner, Bruce. I am thrilled and excited to start a new chapter of my career as owner of this massage clinic. One day, I hope to expand beyond University Place and open new locations to help as many people as I can; whether it’s because they want to relax, or to seek some therapeutic work. The greatest feeling I have is seeing a client come in starting with a pain of 10/10 and coming in weeks later with their pain down to a 1/10. My biggest personal goal is an ongoing one of keeping a strong, united, and very loving family. My oldest son has autism, and my youngest son was made disabled at five months of age. However, my husband and I have been strong, united and we keep our family feeling very loved, despite how difficult the times may get. As for me, personally, I love doing spontaneous adventures. Whether that’s planning a last-minute hike, visiting a beach, or booking a trip. I love being with my children and singing to my youngest even though my oldest doesn’t like my singing. Then, when I can, I enjoy just relaxing and watching movies with my husband.

Christie C. Him, LMT #MA60875958

Christie is a graduate of Clover Park technical College from 2018, certified in Swedish and Clinical Treatment Massage. She had become interested in the program at first because she wished to work with her hands and understand the human body better, though as her experiences grew, she found she wanted to expand her knowledge to helping people, from sports injuries to chronic conditions. Understanding the importance of self-care as a Massage Therapist, Christie attends Kickboxing classes to keep her body healthy and mind sharp, added on to her love for hiking. She is trained in Lomi Lomi massage and stretches and plans to continue her education in other fields to aid in her career.
